We get everyone a new ornament either signifying something they did over the year (a school house for my daughter who started school) or something they like (an Elmo for the baby). We open them on Christmas Eve so they get to be on the tree for Christmas morning. It's awesome to see the collection and our family grow up!

I am from Barcelona and my favourite tradition is the Caga Tió...during all december the children must "feed" a log that we have tunned (we draw him a face, put a blanket over him...) and on christmas eve they sing a song and hit the log with a stick so the log can pooh...it's obvious that what the children get are presents and sweets!

I know it may sound strange but it's very funny!

Our family is large...our parents, us 3 siblings, our 15 kids(only 3 are mine!), and 36 grandchildren (only 1 is mine, darn it). We're scattered, literally, from coast to coast, and that doesn't even count in the multitudes of our cousins. All of us light a candle at the same time on Christmas Eve, so we're together in spirit, if not in person. I love this tradition, and I hope all the kids continue it, long after we're gone.
